THE SKIN CONSULT
The Skin Consultant was a start-up beauty brand, focused on delivering clinical skin care directly to consumers at home. They focused on a membership-driven platform where members got significant discounts for clinical skin care as well as access to professional dermatologists, facialists, and practitioners across the country. The Skin Consult started up after the initial 2020 frenzy to bring everything online and wanted to ensure people could still get the skin care they needed
strategy
We took a founder-first approach and positioned the creator of the company to be the expert on any skincare questions. The company was unique, but her expertise as an Indian-American businesswoman and a PharmD gave her an edge that other Derm-run companies didn’t have.
With that key, rather than focus solely on the company, we chose to focus on building trust and visibility of the brand by creating opportunities for the founder to share her expertise and insights on important beauty topics.
Using this strategy, we were able to boost the founder’s and the company’s SEO and organic reach. Within a four month period, we secured 19 press placements about the brand/ founder, several of which were in top tier publications like TODAY, POPSUGAR, HOLA!, and Fast Company garnering 83 Million Unique Views and creating over $750,000 in estimated ad value.
These placements helped bolster the startup’s image, improve trust in the brand, the founder, and expand their reach, leading to an additional feature in a Bloomberg startup article.
