sole strategies

Sole Strategies is a women-run and owned political firm offering nearly every resource a candidate needs to run a campaign. Starting out in 2020, no one knew who they were and only very small, unknown candidates were working with them. Along with being a new business, they were questioned on their abilities due to their age, their gender, and their race. Their goal with PR was to establish themselves as professionals in politics, proving their expertise and abilities, and ultimately attract better clients and create more company awareness

We took the time to differentiate the client from competitors. The women who ran the company were different and interesting because of their age, gender, race, and backgrounds, but it also worked against them. They were self-made helping other self-made candidates get their footing in politics. They also were willing to discuss any and all taboo issues–which many operatives are not willing to do. I took that information and positioned the primary media spokesperson as an expert for any trending political issues in the news.

With the client's willingness to be ready for media appearances daily, I focused on monitoring any breaking political stories where my client could offer her expertise and position on matters. I pitched reporters to offer comments on both local and national breaking news.

We also focused on thought leadership pitching when not focusing on breaking news. This helped round out our approach, creating both a long and short-term plan.

Our strategy landed the client in Forbes, INSIDER, Diamond and Silk, Fox Soul, US News, and more in the first 8 months. Because the strategy worked so well and our media resume was expanding, our pitch to Newsweek’s The Debate podcast was well received. After a few repeat appearances, The Debate asked the client to be a co-host for the podcast. My client recorded over 40 episodes with The Debate alone. These appearances, along with other media successes, led to ongoing appearances on Forbes Breaking News, and other top political channels like The Young Turks and The Daily Beans.

Sole Strategies now has over 3 thousand media hits and when compared with their direct competitors, they control 98.5% of the conversation happening in their industry around politics. They also now have fans reaching out daily to respond to recent articles, quotes, podcast appearances, and new, more established candidates asking to work with them, including presidential candidates.
